The Leaky Cauldron - My Second Favorite HP site…

The Leaky Cauldron
Aside from The Site of Requirement (I know…bias…. :-) ), The Leaky Cauldron is my favorite Harry Potter site. I used to use Mugglenet. For awhile I knew about Leaky, but still used Mugglenet. I switched after I a) Got DSL and B) noticed that you could go to leakynews.com instead of The- Leaky- Cauldron.org. Nowadays I rarely go to Mugglenet, but I subscribe to both sites’ RSS feeds so I can get the latest news ASAP. Leaky is, in my opinion, cooler and more professional then Mugglenet. I like Leaky’s AJAX design and the fact that they don’t have white-on-black text like Mugglenet. Plus, Leaky is the home of Pottercast, my favorite podcast. By the way, I’m NOT bashing Mugglenet as some Leaky fans have done in the past, merely pointing out Leaky’s strengths. I think Leaky has more….”personality” as well. If you’ve worked with web sites, you know what I mean. I enjoyed the short “History of Leaky” page. It tells you some cool factoids like that Leaky is the oldest HP news site still in existence. It started out as a blog and quickly evolved into a full-featured news site. Leaky was started before Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (the book, not the movie) was released. Mugglenet came right after. I could go on about Leaky (or The Site of Requirement…), but I don’t belive anyone wants to read my rants about how great either are.
